About the Book

Diora Moss is a crane in this house of dogs.
Elliot Jay is a puppet whose strings have snapped.
Diora Moss has only loved one person, her sister, and when a group of politicians hurt her sister, she can only think of one way to get justice. To kill everyone involved.
So when she does and gets caught by a monster much scarier than her, she’s recruited to join an organization of hitmen, where she meets him.
Elliot Jay is a simple man with gray morals. As a top hitman in his family’s organization, there is not much that bothers him except for one thing: kids. So when he finds out the organization’s leader is involved with the disappearance of recruits, he gets the newbie Diora Moss to help save the kids.
A florist and a season serial killer find themselves entangled in more than work as they betray the people closest to them for revenge.
Little Crane is a full-length romance novel set within the Darkest Desire Anthology Series.

My Take
This was another book I had trouble putting down. This series interested me when I signed up because it had darker topics. I’ve never been much of a romance person (I do like spicy and more adult topics, though) so this is right up my ally. Perfect Poppy had me wanting more and this book has me excited about the rest of the books I’ll be reading.
It starts by talking about her trauma and the reason why she’s going down this path, cuts to her soon-to-be lover and ends on another note I typically don’t like. I’m generally a fan of stories with darker endings but this time, the happy ending is really good. It wasn’t much of a surprise ending. I kept wondering if the MC, espeically Elliott, knew love vs obsession but that works well with painting the characters as psychopaths.
If you like spicy with crazy- I recommend this book. I’m looking forward to the next book I get and I’m looking forward to seeing more from JorJor Battle.
