Cinnamon Rolls- Gluten free

1 Package yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup of water
6 TBSP sugar
6 TBSP crisco
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup hot water
1/2 cup cold water
1 egg
3 3/4 cups flour

 

Mix sugar, crisco, salt and 1/2 cup hot water
Add cold water and egg
Add yeast mixture
stir in 3 3/4 cups of flour to make the dough sticky
Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight

 

Cinnamon rolls

1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix the sugar and cinnamon and before letting the dough rise, spread squeeze or melted butter and spread the sugar/cinnamon mix evenly

Roll length wise and cut into 1 in rolls and let rise on a cookie sheet about 2-3 hours

 

Bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes

 

Topping:

1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
about 1 TBSP milk (or soy/almond)

Mix all ingredients and drizzle over top of the cinnamon rolls before serving

 

I prefer using soy free dairy free butter and sweetened almond milk for desserts.
