To the Ones Who Aren’t There Yet

To the ones who aren’t there yet
Get out now before you can’t
To the ones who use casually
But aren’t addicted yet
Maybe you’re dealing with trauma
Or you’re chronically bored
Maybe your friends all are users
And you just want to fit in and have fun
Whatever your reason, you’re not addicted yet
So get out while you can

When your heart isn’t into getting high
And you can still hold down a job
You still have your dreams
You just want to escape reality
Get out while you can

You are in the neglected side
Of the drug epidemic
There is no help- because you don’t have a problem
You’re not living the addiction hell day after day
But you’re not living clean
You can still quit, even if you lose your friends
The loss of fake friends is worth
Your dreams, finances, health and life

This is for everyone not included in our epidemic- the ones who aren’t addicted… yet.

The ones who still do drugs for fun, to relieve stress or to cope with trauma- get out while you can, before you hit rock bottom and lose everything. Before you lose everyone you care about. Most importantly, before you lose yourself

I did. So did many of my other friends. We noticed when the high started having to be chased. We noticed when we were starting to crave the high, when it was not as fun as it used to be.

Get out before you have no choice. Look at the headlines- all the people who OD, who get diseases and who go to bed and never wake up. All the drug users who lose their kids, kill their kids or go to prison. Get out before you ruin your life.

Life is better sober, it’s better clean and living is better when you can fully experience it. Money is better spent on experiences, not drugs.

You are the ones left out of the drug battles- you don’t need rehab, you can quit anytime. You haven’t robbed, don’t steal and still work. You buy your own drugs. Leave the life before you are so caught up it takes everything you have.

I’ve been nominated for the sunshine blogger award

I’d like to thank Ami over at UndercoverSuperhero for the nomination. I wrote a guest post for her blog earlier this month and most definitely enjoyed working with her.

The rules of the Sunshine Blogger Award are as follows:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and links back to their site.
  • Answer the 11 questions asked by your nominator.
  • Nominate at least 11 more bloggers for the award and write 11 new, creative questions for your nominees to answer.
  • Notify your nominees via social media or by commenting on their blog.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your site or in your post.

What are you most thankful for?

Kids, family, furbabies and husband

What was the best thing to happen to you last week?

Last week? Not much, went on vacation the week before and getting to relax with my husband is definitely high up on that list. (all grandparents came with us)

If you owned a theme park, what would it be called and what sort of rides would you have?

The rides would have a horror, magick and fantasy theme. I’m not sure what I would call it, but it would have a fantasy theme to the name

What’s your superpower?

My anxiety- I imagine every worst case scenario so much in my head that when an emergency or near emergency situation comes up, I’m extremely calm and able to handle it on my feet.

What is your favourite accessory?

Good pair of earrings

If you were Prime Minister/President, what would be your first call for action?

It would be a 3 part effort- control costs of education, penalize any company harshly if they employed all part time or a single full time worker was on welfare and try to get more better paying jobs in the country

What quote do you live by?

“I’ll try anything once. If I like it, I’ll try it again. If I really like it, I’m hooked. ”

What is your favourite Disney song?

A Whole New World, hands down- I could actually listen to that song multiple times a day without hating it

Favourite party song?

Pretty much anything by Aqua or Real McCoy. Cotton-Eyed Joe, Never Gonna Give You Up and What is Love

I could listen to 90s Euro Dance all day, always been one of my favorite genres.

On what platform, did you have your first social media account? (Bebo, MySpace, etc)

MySpace, unless you want to go far back to the old chatrooms- then Surfmonkey

What is your favourite stationery item?

A really good pen-  I never have enough laying around when I need them.

For this, I nominate

  1. LauReads
  2. Ann from Muddling Through my Middle Age
  3. Coffeemamma
  4. Dr Andrea from Thriving Under Pressure
  5. Jessica from Sorting Life’s Issues
  6. Candy from Geek Mamas
  7. Momma On Da Move
  8. Martha from White Hair Grace
  9.  Elayna from Ingredients of Living
  10.  Morgan Prince
  11. Lynne from AwesomismMom

My questions:

  1.  What is your favorite genre to read and write?
  2.  Is there anything in your past you would change?
  3. What is your biggest accomplishment?
  4. What is your biggest fear?
  5. Do you have any furbabies? (if you do, what breeds)
  6.  If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
  7.  Do you prefer vacationing at the beach or in the mountains?
  8.  Are you more urban, suburban or rural?
  9.  What would your dream profession be?
  10.  What are your feelings on the oxford comma?
  11. If you only had 1 day left to live, what would you do? What would your last meal be?

Disclaimer since I occasionally post affiliate links

I dislike ads. I don’t like viewing ads that appear spammy or scammy.

I just hopefully was taken off the adwords campaign because I didn’t like the number of ads nor the topics of the ads that would appear, they seemed click-baity and scam-like.

I also am not a huge fan of posting the disclaimer when I post reviews and add in Amazon affiliate links. It looks like the I am making false reviews but I hand select the products and usually decide to add them in on a whim (like the sleep book post, reading the book gave me the idea then I decided a few minutes before finishing it to post the link)

I promise that on any of the sites I am working on, all products that are linked to affiliate links are actual products I have read, used or have some form of experience with. I don’t sit down to write affiliate posts, I write out a post and decide on a whim if I want to add the link.

Not all links will be affiliate either- I do promise to always disclose but I do want to make it clear that all affiliate links are to legitimate sources and they are all products I would give a full 5 star rating to and recommend to people.
